Louisa’s Electronics was opened by local propietors and Fort Lewis College alumni Don Bendell and Ericka Curlee. Originally as Louisa’s Movie House, the business concept was to be a video rental store that also sold DVD players (a brand new technology then!) As a Dish satellite dealer during the time when giant C-band dishes were fading, our business grew and soon our clients were asking us to wire their construction projects to plan for TV and audio. As technology evolved, so did we, in time extending our products and services to include home automation and security systems. From our beginning, we have had a special knack for technology and we are committed to staying on the forward edge. We are grateful for our success and proud to continue to offer technology solutions to our beloved Durango and Four Corners community.
Louisa was our shop dog. In truth, she was probably an angel disguised as a dog. Her breeding and early life were something of a mystery. Ericka adopted her from the La County Humane Society in 1995. When asked what kind of dog she was, we replied, “She’s a Sommadog. Some a’ this and some a’ that.” Our nearest guess is that she had some Husky, some Lab, maybe Shepherd. She had a gentle soul and loved to be pet and she had the softest fur you ever felt on a dog. She came to work with us regularly, often laid by the front door, but would only get up for those she knew to be dog lovers. Many of our customers greeted her by name and came to expect her in her spot by the door. She passed peacefully in August 2007. She was 13.

What We’re All About
Our focus is customer satisfaction. We do our very best to educate our clientele about the many facets of technology, because we believe an informed buyer is a smart buyer. We believe in offering a fair price for our products and services, following industry standards and maintaining a competitive edge with national retailers without devaluing the quality of our brands. We stand by our commitment to achieve excellence in every step of our process. Beginning with design, we aim for simplicity as the lowest common denominator, understanding that at the end of the day our customers want technology that is easy to use. We reach for a high bar of professionalism and quality in our work throughout our sales and installation stages. It is our sincere hope that the customer experience we create is, above all, one that is fun.
